A time to rest...

Vacation. Perhaps this word means camping, the beach, a hotel, cabin, or condo. This year it meant staying home for us. But in the midst of "staying home" we were gone almost every day. :) The first day was the zoo...which was the fulfillment of a "wish" for our little lady.
I must say that monkeys aren't usally my favorite animals, but this one was cute enough to take home with me. :)

And it's cousin, dressed in orange.

(Sorry about distorted order of pictures.) We ate at Atlanta Bread company, (such a nice treat) after a warm day at the zoo, and finished it off with our very first yogurt bar experience.

Somehow I didn't get the memo of the to "look off into the distance!" :)

We half- awkwardly pose with the majestic lion.

The bears were our first item of viewing, to which Grace was almost amazed that there were live animals! Not that she expected anything lesss....but it seemed surreal at first. :)

Best seat in the house.

And I threw in a ramdom picture of the tea table one afternoon, to which some lovely women joined Mother and I  for a chat.

And another random summmer picture of  an afternoon painting session with my Little Lady.

Another Tea Table picture.
The second day was spent at Carrowinds and had too much fun to worry about picutures! :) It was such a fun day! My favorite part was the last half hour. I went with my two older brothers on our favorite two rides. We saw a special "light show" from the very top peak of the "Night Hawk" and screamed loudly as we were swept down the exciting path of the "Intimidator".  I was such sweet fun, and great memories.
There was a day spent at the lake. (Thanks to the lending of a friends pontoon.)

Me and sister enjoying some toe dipping while the men unload the pontoon.

I prefer to call him "CHON BON" others chose "Chene Bean" along with "Cheney Beany" And "CHony", and then we sometimes address him with his proper name :Eugene. In any case, we like him alot.

Kyle enjoys his lunch.

We begin to attempt tube "moves" to entertain ourselves since the pontoon didn't travel at a very high speed. :)

Glad for cameras with fast shutter speed...this didn't last very long! :)

On Friday evening we had the joy of  meeting Joni Eareckson Tada. She was so anointed, humble, and real. I bought a book about her that night, and have been even further inspired. Inspired in the way, that, the chair she lives in really isn't glamorous, and her way of life is so hard, and yet the Lord has used it for his glory, and because of her choosing.
We finished off our vacation on Saturday night by going to a local park to play tennis, then, after dark, we all piled on the back of Daddy's pickup and drove up one of our local moutains. Once on top we spotted the region of where our house would be, saw this town or that, and looked for the Mcdonalds sign in the town below from which we came. Then we all sat on the slope of overlooking a small part of God"s world, Father blessed us all individually, then we all prayed over him as he prepares for his sermon the next morning at the home church. We then sang into the night air on our curvy drive back down the moutain. The week of vacation was packed full of fun and high energy activities, and I'm so grateful for times of stopping from the normal and enjoying family.
